The rabbit laid in the grass for days
His back leg caught in a man made trap
Full of sharp metal teeth
The rabbit cried out
Piercing yells of pain
He pulled this trap with him
But, only for a few feet
His cry now hoarse
He began to feel exhausted
In this hopeless fight
He laid in the grass, hurting and in agony
The day turned into night
The night turned into day
He was confused
This little creature wondered what kept him trapped
He could not handle it anymore
On the third day he died
Pain finally ended
But, deep mutilated scars covered his hopping foot
His soft brown coat was tainted
Splashed with his own blood
He died alone
In agony
